Serifos is one of the finest and most genuine in Cycladic islands. Plenty of sandy beaches with turqoise clear waters, a superb authentical old town on top of a steep rock, a cute small harbour full of fishermen boats and a healthy dry climate with more than 300 sunshine days per year make this unspoilt dry island the ideal place for individual travelers.

You will not find even one big all-inclusive hotel at Serifos, just a handful of 3 star hotels and some 50 simple pensions, most of them self-catering studios. So be aware of coming to Serifos in high season without having made a reservation in advance. Especially August needs booking months before.

We recommend to our Balkanatolia guests Alex and Vasso's Appartments because they are outstanding among all other accommodations there: situated in a green shadowy garden with big trees (which you can hardly find at another point of this treeless island), 5 meters from a superb sandy beach, there are 5 cute island-style houses with studios or appartments inside. Vasso and Alexandros are typical island people, warmhearted and full of hospitality. Their small restaurant serves tasty sea-food specialties and  classical greek cuisine. You do not even need a car there - Serifos harbour is just a ten-minute walk from here.
